Uncle Nearest
Uncle Nearest was founded in 2016 by Fawn Weaver and takes its name from Nathan “Nearest” Green, the first known African American master distiller. The brand was created to honour Green’s place in Tennessee whiskey history, and Uncle Nearest says it was the first spirits brand named after a Black American. It remains independently owned by Uncle Nearest, Inc., with Weaver still leading the business.
