Roseisle was designed for scale and flexibility, with 14 copper stills and the ability to produce different styles of malt whisky for Diageo’s wider Scotch portfolio. Much of its spirit is used for blends such as Johnnie Walker, but the distillery’s production setup allows changes in fermentation, distillation and condensation to shape lighter or heavier spirit styles.
Sustainability was also built into Roseisle from the start, with biomass energy and heat-recovery systems helping reduce emissions and reuse production by-products. Although Roseisle is still better known as a blending malt, it has appeared as a single malt through limited releases, including a 12 Year Old expression in Diageo’s 2023 Special Releases collection.
