About New Riff
New Riff is an independent Kentucky whiskey distillery in Newport, Kentucky, founded in 2014 by Ken Lewis and Jay Erisman. Built next to The Party Source, the large spirits retailer previously owned by Lewis, New Riff was created around full sour mash production, bottled-in-bond standards and non-chill filtered whiskey, with its own aquifer providing traditional Kentucky limestone-rich water for production.
The core New Riff Bourbon is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon made from 65% corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley, aged at least four years and bottled at 100 proof. New Riff also produces bottled-in-bond rye whiskey, single barrel releases and Kentucky single malt, with the distillery known for bold grain character, spice, oak, caramel, vanilla and a modern take on classic Kentucky whiskey.
