El Dorado was launched in 1992 by Demerara Distillers Limited as a premium aged rum range, beginning with the 15 Year Old Special Reserve. The brand draws on a much older Guyanese rum tradition, with El Dorado itself presenting that history as more than 300 years of Caribbean rum crafting rooted on the banks of the Demerara.
