About 1792
1792 is named for the year Kentucky became a state, linking the brand directly to bourbon’s Kentucky identity. It is produced at Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, a site established in 1879 and described by Sazerac as the oldest fully operational distillery in Bardstown. The distillery sits on 196 acres and is built around the Tom Moore Spring, with 29 ageing warehouses supporting its large-scale bourbon production.
The brand is now owned by Sazerac, which acquired Barton from Constellation Brands in 2009. 1792 Small Batch is known for its high-rye bourbon style, bringing firm spice, caramel, vanilla and oak, while the wider range includes Full Proof, Bottled in Bond, Single Barrel, Sweet Wheat, Port Finish, Aged Twelve Years and other limited expressions.
