Vanilla-tinged sweetness and toffee ride atop velvety malt, with orchard fruits and dried apricot lending lift. A delicate sherry nuance broadens into warm oak and spice—nutmeg and orange zest—creating a polished, inviting aroma with quiet, confection-like richness.

Palate

On the palate, Bell's Extra Special 8 Year reveals a smooth, creamy sweetness with a quiet sherry-influenced depth. Dried fig and raisin mingle with caramel and toffee, underpinned by soft spice and gentle oak. The texture is supple and medium-bodied, finishing with a warm, nutty echo that lingers invitingly.

Long, luxurious finish with dark sherry fruit, raisin and fig, mingled with cocoa and toasted oak, while a gentle spice threads through to leave a warm, lingering glow.

Bell’s traces its roots to Arthur Bell, a Perth wine and spirits merchant who began vatting malt whiskies together in 1851 to create a more consistent blended Scotch. The “Extra Special” trademark was registered in 1895 and later appeared with the Bell’s name in 1904, becoming the basis of the long-running Bell’s blend. Blair Athol, founded in 1798, became closely tied to the brand after Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
