Ladyburn was closed in 1975 and dismantled in 1976 when the grain whisky side of Girvan needed more space, leaving only a very small number of casks behind. Some independent bottlings have appeared under the Ayrshire name rather than Ladyburn, making these releases particularly interesting for collectors of silent Lowland whisky. Its style is generally regarded as light, floral and delicate, with surviving bottles now rare due to the distillery’s brief production life.
