Romeo y Julieta is one of the classic Cuban cigar names, created as a Habanos brand in 1875 and named after William Shakespeare’s tragedy. Its early reputation was built in Havana, before the marque gained wider international recognition in the early 20th century under Don “Pepín” Rodríguez, who helped promote the cigars through distinctive bands and export growth.
