Nantou

Whilst Kavalan grab all the headlines and awards for Whisky in Taiwan Nantou have quietly gone about making both blended and single malt under the state controlled TTL group. Only established in 2008 as a whisky distillery with malted barley being imported from Scotland and aged in mainly in ex-bourbon and sherry casks and due to the hot summer months only runs October to April. The two single cask & cask strength editions we have seen from this distillery are real collector’s items. A distillery to watch with peated and non chill filtered versions due to be released.
