Nikka Miyagikyo

Miyagikyo is the more fruitier single malt that goes into the Nikka blends and blended malt with the more smokey Yoichi and here on its own is a red berry fruity delight.

A none age statement single malt from the second of the Nikka owned Japanese distilleries and was called the Sendai distillery until 2001and now named after the Miyagi prefecture where the distillery is located in the north of the main Honshu Island.

The Miyagikyo distillery or Sendai distillery as it used to be known opened in 1969 and was the second to be opened by the Nikka company after Yoichi in 1934.This 10 year old is a now delisted bottle and very hard to find.
