Founded in 1824, the Macallan Whisky distillery is located in the Scottish highlands near Craigellachie on a 390 acre estate. By using the natural water from the River Spey, Macallan Whisky are able to produce single malt whisky to the highest standard. To gain the full bodied richness of Macallan Whisky, they only use 16% of these stills for filling into casks. Not only are they the first whisky distillery to gain a legal license, they are the only whisky makers to employ their own dedicated wood cutter to craft the Macallan Whisky Casks.
