Ailsa Bay
Ailsa Bay is situated in the Lowlands, on the Clyde coast looking out towards Ailsa Craig, Kintyre and Arran. The distillery was built on the same Girvan site where Ladyburn had once stood (1966-1976). At the time of conception, demand for both Glenfiddich and Balvenie was on the rise and so the site was resurrected as Ailsa Bay with the aim of creating a new type of Whisky. The stills installed have the same design as Balvenie’s to offer similar flavour possibilities. Unlike any other Whisky, the Ailsa Bay expressions are scientifically distilled to create a delectable balance between “peat” and “sweet.”
