anCnoc

(an-KNOCK)

In 1984 when John Morrison discovered the purest, crystal clear water flowing from several springs on the southern slopes of Knock Hill he decided this would be the perfect place for the Knockdhu distillery.

These springs weren’t the only deciding factor in the location for the distillery; just a few miles away were the farmlands of Moray which were an excellent source of barley and peat. The anCnoc distillery also was paramount in the protection of a unit of the Indian Army during World War II, as the distillery acted as a stable and provided the soldiers with food. The anCnoc distillery reopened in 1989 after a few closures and has been running ever since.
