Port Dundas (silent)

At one time Port Dundas was the largest distillery in Scotland.  Port Dundas was located in Glasgow on the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal and built in 1811.  The central location was key in the distillerys growth, as Glasgow became the bedrock for the booming Scottish blending industry.  By 2010 however, Diageo, Port Dundas's owners were keen to centralise their grain production at the modernised and expanded Cameronbridge site and decided to close the distillery, ironic as Port Dundas was one of the founding distilleries of the fore runner to Diageo, DCL
