Product Description
Queen Victoria bestowed Royal status to this distillery as it was near her cherished home of Balmoral and visited the distillery with her husband Albert and legend has it she used to mix her malt with Claret!?
Nose: Juicy malt, sultana, sticky dates, creamy and buttery toffee, nutty sherry oak, touch of clove spice, fruitcake, oranges in sherry trifle sponge.
Palate: Buttery roasted nuts, creamy praline, honey on brown toast, clove and nutmeg, juicy dates, sultana loaf, ginger nut biscuits, old sherry oak.
Finish: Spiced toffee apple, dark honey on brown bread, mocha, praline, ginger cake, smoked almonds, drying into antique furniture oak.
A juicy, mellow and elegant Highland malt and one for the lovers of a softer South Highlands (Glengoyne or Edradour say) style and keep well away fro the Claret!
