Product Description
Four years on from the entry level 12 year old whisky in the new Royal Brackla single malt whisky range (which also includes a 21 year old) and what a difference 4 years can make. The Royal Brackla 16 year old, like all the bottlings in the range is presented in rather regal looking navy blue packaging and bottled at 40% ABV and it carries a clear age statement which is becoming a rarity for many new releases these days.
Nose: A lovely rich enticing nose, vanilla, creamy caramel, marmalade.
Palate: Rich, sweet juicy raisiny sweetness, orange, vanilla caramel, peaches and apricot, oak spices.
Finish: Longish, the juicy raisins, apricot and orange slowly fade leaving mildly drying oak spice.
A lovely well balanced dram, loads going on here, full of flavour. Considering age, quality and price this is my choice out of the new Royal Brackla range.
