Port Dundas was a Lowland Grain Distillery near Glasgow that finally closed its doors in 2011.
A much underrated style of Whisky with most of it destined for blending but when it is given the same care and attention to detail as Single malt it can be very much its equal.
Nose: Fresh and inviting with lime and elderflower, pears in vanilla syrup, anjelica and hints of peppery oak spice.
Palate: White chocolate, sugared almond, lime curd and a white pepper & salty spicyness.
Finish: Anise, boiled sweets, fresh cereal, lime, elderflower, mint chocolate and spicy ginger.
A great value for money single cask release and offers something a little bit different from what i have tried from Port Dundas before.
