Product Description

The oldest whisky ever bottled by Diageo for the 2017 special releases series.

A 52 year old Port Dundas, distilled way back in 1964 and aged in refill American hogsheads and only the second release of this closed grain distillery in the series.

Just 752 bottles have been released making this the real limited release and hardest to get hold of of the 2017 Diageo releases.

This Port Dundas is astonishingly rich and complex for a grain whisky, and might be mistaken for a classy Bourbon on the nose and in the mouth: it's creamy and fruity, with bags of vanilla toffee.

9.2/10 Editor's choice in Whisky Magazine.

Nose: Like getting into the perfectly made bath, warming, relaxing and tranquil. Lovely sweetness and gentle nuttiness here. Chocolate coated toffee pennies and vanilla cream pastries.

Palate: Plenty of vanilla here with a Bourbon-esque spiced edge. Maraschino cherries, dried apricots and mango sit with a wrapping of oak vanilla and pencil shavings.

Finish: Long, ever so long and sweet with those spices adding some tingling.

Just magnificent. A real star of a whisky.

An excellent example of very old grain, with a hugely fruity centre.
