Pittyvaich was a Speyside distillery that operated from 1974 until 1993 and the distillery has now been demolished. This 12 year old is part of the much collected Flora and Fauna range.
Nose: Brown bread, heather honey, sappy oak, old fashioned toffee, dried fruit, waxy orange, oaty flapjacks, leather.
Palate: Savoury, meat glaze, honey, nuts, malty bread, coffee grinds, herbal toffee, treacle, peppery oak.
Finish: Savoury (meat jus) treacle on maltloaf, peppery cashews, leathery notes and anise, dry oak.
A dry and savoury Speyside that was based in Dufftown and was one of the malts that went into Bell's blends.
