Product Description

A Single Grain whisky from the North Britishdistillery in the Lowlands of Scotland and bottled by independent Bottler Murray McDavid under the Celtic Heartlands releases that also included a 1965 Girvan, a 1964 Dumbarton, a 1974 Cameronbridge and a 1965 Invergordon and all single cask single grain.

Each has been specially selected by Ex-Bruichladdich master distiller Jim Mcewan and his name is on every bottle.

This North British release is from a 1974 vintage and Bottled 2000.

Aged for 33 years old with only 420 bottles released.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Caramel and vanilla extract mix with julip, heather honey and delicious sweet oak, with more time it evolves slowly bringing fresh mint, dried hay, custard and the zest of ripe manarin.

Body: Medium weight with the viscosity of the spirit holding firmto the side of the glass.

Palate: The palate is a toffee lovers paradise, with delicious chewy notes backed by cream and dark fudge, further black fruitier charaters appear:apple, pear and peach, followed by toasted pine nuts and homemade butter shortbread. Delicious!

Finish: Amazingly clean and fresh for it's age, a true testament to the distillery. If you want something that offers all the complexity of an older dram but still retaining the freshness of youth, then this is it.
