A sublime new Mortlach, released as part of Gordon and Macphail's super premium Private Collection series. This series showcases some of the rarest and most prized whiskies from this legendary independant bottler. Matured for over half a century in a first fill Sherry Butt, this is a rich and decadent malt that would take pride of place in any serious whisky collection. One of only 365 bottles worldwide, of which only 24 have been made available here in the UK!
Official Tasting Notes
Aroma - Aromatic ginger and brown sugar aromas combine, giving way to rich cocoa beans. A subtle vanilla edge develops alongside succulent fruitcake and roasted almond notes.
Palate - Smooth and rich flavours of ripe forest fruits and fragrant blood orange peel are complemented by subtle traces of white pepper. Cinnamon comes to the fore alongside intense dark chocolate with mature oak. .
Finish - Long and smooth with lingering chocolate smothered alomonds and oak tannins.
