Product Description

New for Winter 2017 the superb peaty style of Tobermory under the "Ledaig" label finished in Hermitage red wine casks from the Rhone region of France from the ever reliable Gordon & Machail "private collection" range.

Only 4100 bottles released and from a September 2005 distillation and bottled in August 2017 at 12 years old.

Nose: Redcurrant jelly, smoked cured meat, honey roasted ham, summer berries on an earthy forest floor, some floral and fragrant notes here too and a new leather, sour cherry and subtle sweet smoke.

Palate: Peppery and savoury red berries, that earthy/forest floor note, honey glazed smoked ham, spiced cranberry or redcurrants, touch of rosemary here too on a deep and rich body/mouthfeel.

Palate: More smoked ham and earthy/leathery notes, crunchy red berries, smoked glace cherry, rosemary and redcurrant jelly, lingering hints of salt and smoke.

A lush combination of the often overlooked Ledaig single malt and rich red wine casks from the Rhone Valley, can just imagine a glass of this with a platter of cold smoked meats and cheese on an autumnal or winters evening.
