Tasting Notes:
Nose: Tarry-oily fishing ropes, lime pickle, sooty gooseberry, inky iodine and classic Laphroaig phenolic grip with a herbal, menthol note along with some coal tar smoke and muddy heather.
Palate: Chocolate lime sweets enjoyed near a freshly tarmac laid road on the way to the fishing harbour, some sooty grape or gooseberry and salted lime, white pepper and ripe pear over peat fire smoke.
Finish: Tarry liquorice, sooty-peppery peat smoke, limes in rock pools, medicinal and menthol like, salted popcorn on a fishing trawler, some late herbal lozenge like note on a long finish.
A really good cask strength indie bottling of your classic marmite malt! i loved this at full strength but you may want to add water (you wimps)
Distilled 21/9/2005.
Bottled at natural cask strength 56.2% ABV.
