Product Description

The second release of a 100% Oloroso Sherry cask aged Hazelburn from the Springbank distillery.

A triple distilled and unpeated release with only 9000 bottles available.

Distilled October 2004 and Bottlked April 2018.

Nose: Sherry drenched dried fruit, fig jam, sticky toffee pudding, nuts in caramel, ginger cake, baked bananas, amaretti biscuits dipped in mocha, clove studded orange, chocolate covered raisins and subtle rootsy/coatal notes.

Palate: Bold and dense Sherry wood delivery (Oloroso soaked fruitcake) chocolate covered raisins, sticky dates, dried banana chips, machiato coffee with demorera sugar, some autumnal leafy and winter spice notes complete this chewy and full bodied malt.

Finish: Fig rolls, sticky ginger cake, nut brittle, malt loaf, burnt butter, dark honeycomb, salted butterscotch, more Sweet and sticky Sherry wood and dense fruitcake notes on a long and moreish finish.

A most enjoyable (maybe my favourite yet from this ever improving range) Hazelburn, plenty to chew on with none of that earthy-briney smoke of the Springbank releases. A rich, cakey and winter spiced figgy plum pudding delight of a Whisky.

Last years release of this sold out in record time, so do not hang around getting your hands on this limited release.
