Product Description
The Silver award winning Glentauchers from Gordon & Macphail at the Scotch Whisky Masters.
Such an underrated distillery in the Pernod Ricard group with most of the stock going into the Ballantine's and Teacher's blends.
This is a gem of a Speyside in Keith and at 19 years old a great value for money mature one too.
Nose: Nut shells, chestnut puree, clove spice, stewed rhubarb, cinnamon toast, juicy sultana and almond milk.
Palate: Clove honey on granary bread, mocha, praline, spiced chestnuts, savoury/leathery notes with some smoked nuts, aromatic spices and oily mouthfeel.
Finish: Leafy and savoury, aromatic syrup, spicy/nutty oak, hints of a garden bonfire, peppery dry finish.
Another solid offering from this lesser known distillery that deserves more attention and if you like your Clynelish or Brora then give this a try.
