A 13 Year Old GlenAllachie, one of the more up and coming Speyside distilleries of the moment. This UK release has been bottled by Gordon and Macphail at cask strength and comes from a single, refill American Oak hogshead. One of 333 bottles.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose - Sweet vanilla fudge and candied pear aromas accompany ripe tropical fruits - pineapple, banana and subtle sweetened coconut. Menthol notes lead to a fresh peppermint edge.
Palate - Warming pepper and spice transforms into flavours of toasted malt and dark chocolate. Sweet; fresh pear with creamy butterscotch with hints of oak.
Finish - Smooth sweet ginger leads to slightly drying nuances of oak.
