A lovely, classic Speyside. Glen Elgin is full of fruit and sweetness, everything a fan of the region would want in their bottle. Bottled at as a 13 Year Old Single Malt bu Alistair Walker, this has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 59% ABV which adds a real depth, texture and mouthfeel to this classic dram.
This is the 2nd batch of Single cask whiskies from the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, cask strength and natural colour with a focus on some high quality but lesser known distilleries.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose Very aromatic and perfumey. Lovely floral notes, also honey, marzipan, and melon.
Taste Almonds, honey and vanilla. A touch of apple pie with Devon custard, followed by some very welcome allspice.
Finish Long, spicy finish, with tremendous viscosity.
Another classically Speyside dram, this is typical Glen Elgin – you can see why this distillery is developing a cult following.
