Very rare to find any bottlings of Tennessee Bourbon at this age let alone Independent ones bottled by a Scottish Company!
As there are only two major Whisky distilleries capable of releasing Whiskey this old in the state of Tennessee where it is normally labeled as"Sour mash" instead of Bourbon, we are guessing that this is Goerge Dickel stock as opposed to the other famous mega distillery in Tennessee?
Sourced from a single cask and aged in new American oak for 13 years that yielded just 150 bottles and bottled at 50.5% ABV.
Nose: Roasted corn with breakfast syrup, touches of clove spice, dark charred wood, leather, dark marmalade, toffee sauce and perfumed vanilla oak.
Palate: Ginger mocha, toffee, caramel, buttery corn on the cob, aromatic wood chips, touch of fresh mint leaf, clove oil, cinnamon stick and black cherry.
Finish: Aromatic spiced syrup on toasted vanilla waffles, black cherry compote, menthol, drying oak with clove, charred corn and burnt butter.
Great to try Tennessee whiskey without the lincoln county process and thus can be labeled as Bourbon and without the maple wood charcoal mellowing we have a less sweet and syrupy whiskey with the spicy corn and aromatic flavours at the core of this one off single cask.
