Garnheath is possibly one of the rarest whiskies in existence. It was the Grain whisky distilled at the Moffat distillery from 1964 to 1986. This whisky was only produced for 22 years and there have only ever been a handful of bottlings ever released. This is a 1986 vintage single cask bottled at 48.5% from the last year of production.
Nose: Egg custard, vanilla, floral notes, freshly cut straw, white chocolate, toasted marshmallows, marzipan, danish pastries, nutmeg.
Palate: Sugared almonds, white chocolate truffles, rum fudge, sweet spices, ginger latte, marzipan,egg nog, vanillin oak.
Finish: White chocolate panna cotta, sugared almonds, touches of sweet and aromatic spice, vanilla icing sugar, glazed danish.
Big Ex-Bourbon cask led single cask single grain and dare i say a delight of a breakfast whisky or one for the Bourbon lover too?
