A former winner of the Whisky Magazine "Bourbon of the year award" and the only Bourbon distillery to have two seperate mash bill recipes and use 5 different yeast strains and in both Rye is the other dominant grain after Corn along with malted barley.
Nose:Hot blackcurrant cordial, dark honey on rye bread, sweet liquorice, breakfast syrup, charred oak, menthol and cherry tobacco, stewed plums & cinnamon.
Palate: Spiced and aromatic stewed plums, mint chocolate, red liquorice, lavender honey, vanilla toast, creamy and syrupy sweet oak.
Finish: Sweet oak and chewy charred notes, plum jam on rye toast, mint, black cherry and chocolate..long finish.
The single barrel is made up from 60% Corn 35% Rye and 5% Malted Barley and the Rye influence gives this great value Bourbon a lovely mint & spice kick.
