A growing reputation for a fruity and full flavour has led to the rise in popularity of Craigellachie whiskies. Aromatic and flavoursome, this 11 Year Old Single Cask has been matured in American Oak and bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.8% ABV. One of 341 bottles to be released.
This is te 2nd batch of Single cask whiskies from the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, cask strength and natural colour with a focus on some high quality but lesser known distilleries.
Official Tasting
Notes Nose Toffee and almonds. Nutty.
Taste Full-bodied. Shortbread and butterscotch. Some dried herbs - rosemary and thyme. Soft, sweet spicy notes.
Finish Sweet and peppery finish.
The distillery’s long fermentation is said to give the whisky a sweet, fruity character. This single cask bottling is a big dram and certainly packs a punch – full-bodied and weighing in at a mighty 59.8%!
