A mystery mix of Blended malts from five different sources with the main component making up 72% of the blend.
The actual break down of the blend will be revealed on the Compass Box website at a later date:Here it is for those too lazy!
(Glenlossie 72% re-charred Hogshead/ Tamdhu 24.5% 1st fill Ex-Bourbon/ Highland Park 2% re-charred Hogshead/ Talisker 1% refill butt/ Caol Ila 0.5% Hogsheads)
The idea is to have fun finding your own tasting notes, here are mine:
Nose: Waxy candied fruits, cold cuts of meat, ginger, whiff of smoke, apricot glaze, aromatic spices and freshly polished wood.
Palate: More waxy notes, this time orchard fruits, white chocolate, juicy currants and spicy raisin , aromatic honey, salted toffee apple.
Finish: Slightly oily, white chocolate, peppery orchard fruits, barley sugar, aromatic spices, beeswax and subtle smoke.
The main thrust of this lovely blended malt is waxy orchard fruits with elegant spice and subtle smoke so i would guess some Highland and Island mix, but hey..decide for yourself.
