Product Description
A 24 year old single cask single grain whisky from a distillery that was located in the Lowlands near Alloa and closed in 1993.
Aged in Ex-Bourbon Casks and bottled at 51.5%ABV
Nose: Rich biscuity, baked goods (think danish pastries or apple pie from the oven) bananas baked with brown sugar, old fashioned toffee, vanilla custard, caramelised peaches and musty spice.
Palate: Fat and juicy grape and grain with rich toffee, butterscotch, milk chocolate, cinnamon, peaches in syrup, vanilla, ginger, mocha and banana toffee.
Finish: Milk chocolate truffles, peach flan, aromatic spices, cinnamon toast, rich vanillin oak, toffee apple, nutmeg on custard tarts.
Single grain whisky is a much underated style that should appeal to the drinker who wants something a bit sweeter like Bourbon or smooth and fruity. This is a pastry chefs idea of a whisky, rich and juicy, sweet and aromatic that will have you coming back for a second slice.
