Product Description
An independent release from York based Claxton's from a closed grain distillery aged for 25 long years in a single refill Sherry butt that yielded only 571 bottles.
Natural colour and non chill filtered and distilled on 27/11/1991 and bottled at natural cask strength of 52.1% ABV.
Nose: Fresh vanilla, toasted marshmallows, meringue nests with melted white chocolate, almond, white grapefruit pith, white currant, touch of lime cordial with homemade lemonade.
Palate: Victoria sponge cake mix, boiled sweets, barley sugar, fresh cereal with runny honey, vanilla shortbread, sugared almonds.
Finish: Vanilla ice cream, marzipan, fizzy citrus, lemon and lime soda, white grapefruit with a dusting of icing sugar.
Single grain whisky with a bit of age on it are a real treat and often great value for money and this Cambus bottling makes you want to set up a stall at a summer fete and sell it by the glass!
