The more affordable and available version of The George T Stagg from the Buffalo Trace distillery, this is the first batch released in 2014 and still a very weighty and worthy Bourbon.
Bottled at Barrel strength 67.2%
Nose: Savoury rye bread dough, spicy buttery nuts (pecan pie) black cherry, aromatic tobacco, roasted corn, bbq charred oak, deep and intense.
Palate:Big spicy oak, dark stewed fruit, caramelised nuts, aromatic tobacco, black cherries in syrup, savoury/meaty notes and hickory smoke and charred wood.
Finish: A moster mouthfeel leads to a dark cherry, tobacco and menthal led long finish, drying oak, bbq charred meat and caramelised banana.
Like father like son and keeping the great reputation of Stagg alive and well, no subtlety here just big, bold Bourbon to blow you away.
