Product Description

There are good £30 bottles of Whisky and there are Good £20,000 bottles of Whisky but Black Bowmore at any price is probably the finest Whisky ever created?

The first edition of Black Bowmore was featured in Ian Buxton's 101 legendary whiskies you're dying to try but (possibly) never will book.

Distilled way back in 1964 and bottled in 1994 at 30 years of age and bottled at 50% ABV

Our very own tasting notes:

Nose: Old furniture-antique shops, wet earth on allotments, old sherry bodega warehouses, tea chests, honey glazed ham, cigar humidor, blood orange, aromatic wood spice, black treacle, rich chutney, picklejuice and reduced balsamic glaze.

Palate: Thick and oily body that coats like cough medicene and reveals nuances of blood orange, clove spice, earthy treacle, aromatic tea chests, old leather, gunpowder, roasted vegetables with honey and balsamic vinegar. A real rootsy-old Sherry wood and harbour full of exotic goods like ginger, rum and coffee beans evident on this epic mouthfeel of a Bowmore.

Finish: Old jamaica ginger cake, aromatic spices, gunpowder tea, drying sherry wood like an old Palo-Cortado vintage, vegetable chutney, earthy and meat stock reduction on a lenghty and dry chewy finish.

An epic voyage of an Old Bowmore that is like being at a harbourside delivery of exotic goods in another century, simply awesome and a mere taste of this was a once in a lifetime experience.
