Product Description

Auchroisk is one of the new crop of distilleries that were built in the 1970's to meet the demand for blended scotch and in particular J&B.

Diageo do not release much of this rich and well balanced Speyside single malt as official bottlings and mostly available as independent releases.

Distilled on 8th December 1997 and aged for 20 years in a single refill hogshead.

Our Tasting Notes:

Nose: Apple turnovers and fresh barley along with some sweet sugary bits that you get at the bottom of a bag of pick and mix. Some liquorice and marzipan here too with some floral honey and a touch of aromatic herbs.

Palate: Quite dry and austere to begin with water bringing out some iced danish and sugared almonds. Lemon barley squash and a prosecco like fizz emerge along with vanilla oak, dark chocolate and ginger spice note.

Finish: Wine gums, marzipan and dark chocolate. Green apple dusted with vanilla icing sugar, barley sugar sweets and pineapple chunks.

Prosecco in a barley field, a spritzy Speyside malt that really comes alive with a drop of water.
