The Benriach distillery was named after Riach Farm and was built in 1898 by John Duff. Being close to the Great North of Scotland Railway was an obvious decision for the location of the distillery.
Benriach bottles have the emblem of a wild red stag, which can be heard roaring in the Teindland Forest near to the distillery. Drawing its water from the Burnside Spring and using lightly peated malted barley. Benriach distill around 3.5 million litres of whisky a year, the majority is used for blends.
