(BLAD-noch)
Built by Thomas McClelland in 1817 by the River Bladnoch is where the distillery sits. It was then rebuilt by McClellands’ grandson in 1871. It has had a few silent periods, and most recently in 1993.
In 2000 is was bought by Ulsterman Raymond Armstrong and is now producing whisky once again. The distillery has a distinctive pagoda chimney which flies high above the complex. Bladnoch is classified as a Lowland distillery along with Auchentoshan and Glenkinchie. Bladnoch does have a visitor centre.
