Product Description

A  1991 vintage of this featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book

95.5 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017

"Full of vitality, charm and class, Quite irresistable"

Our Tasting notes:

Nose:Rice pudding, oily and herbal notes, shortbread, some walnut and coffee from the Sherry casks, malty brown bread, candied fruit, waxy orchard fruit, dry grass & barley.

Palate: Malty and peppery barley, oily and herbal mouthfeel with sugared shortbread, ripe pear, green apple, touches of rich sultana, brown bread with aromatic honey, orange rind and fizzy sour sweets like American hard gums or wine gums.

Finish: Yellow plums, waxy orchard fruit, fresh barley, boiled sweets, peppery spice, shortbread/biscuity, lime marmalade, sultana toast, vanillin oak, creamy coffee.

This should be on any lover of Speyside single malt list of must try Whiskies, from a lesser known and safe to say not very fashionable distillery with its most famous release being the cult Loch Dhu 10 year old black whisky. But do not let that put you off trying this!
