Product Description

A wonderful single cask release from Ledaig which is a heavily peated single malt from The Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull.

Meaning "safe haven" and for me one of the most underated peated malts on the market and as a fan of Islay i highly recommend you get some Ledaig in your life.

Matured in a single Sherry Butt  that yielded just 564 bottles, aged for 11 years and bottled at natural cask strength of 56.8%ABV

Distilled:5/6/2005 Bottled:6/7/2016

Nose: Smoked bacon, earthy, waxy ripe quince, new leather, ginger, raisin, dark treacle, sherry soaked figs and dark honey baked smoked ham.

Palate: Earthy and savoury delivery before the smoked red fruit kicks in (cranberry and redcurrant) then smoked ham, mulchy mushrooms from a wet forest floor, leather, pink peppercorns, sherry wood tannins and sweetness, chewy peat smoke and spicy black grapes.

Finish: Peppery oak, treacle baked smoked ham, earthy and spicy with notes of pomegranate, crunchy cranberry, ginger and sherry soaked raisins.

Youthfull this may be at 11 years old but this packs a three course meal of a punch and a very complex palate and very satisfying long finish.
