Product Description

Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book

Always the best value for money of the Annual Diageo releases and the 2016 Edition was with the Brora and the Port Ellen one of the top picks quality wise from the 2016 selection of releases that included whisky up to 40 years old.

Nose: Lemon and lime dipped in salty icing sugar, pine needles on a sea breeze, volcanic smoke, white pepper, candy floss over peat bonfire smoke, seaweed.

Palate: Cool menthol tinged green fruit (sooty apple & smoked pear) oily, herbal mouthfeel, peppery seaweed and vanilla tinged peat smoke.

Finish: So clean and creamy for its abv, lime & elderflower, green peppers, green fruit, fresh garden herbs, zingy citrus and classic Lagavulin tar smoked but tinged with sweet vanilla here, oh and a long, long finish to boot!

Is this the most collectable Lagavulin 12 year old cask strength yet? the 14th released and with the 2016 being part of  the distilleries 200th Anniversary limited releases it will be worth getting at least two (one to drink and one to keep) Wonderful re-fill American hogshead cask aged version that is a lovely contrast to the 16 year old.
