Product Description

These rare cask releases from Glenglassaugh date back from the 1970's and early 1980's before a 20 year plus period of being silent and almost final closure before being saved a few years ago by the owners of the Benriach & Glendronach distillery and the same whisky making genius of those (Billy Walker) is responsible for choosing and bottling these limited single cask releases. Nose: Salted dark caramel, roasted almonds, old fashioned ginger cake, dark treacle, armagnac soaked prunes, sticky dates, stewed apple, rich and dark oak. Palate: Honey glazed ham, dark treacle on brown bread, meat stock, salted treacle tart. Finish: Fizzy coke cubes, salted honey glazed ham, caramelised pineapple drying into treacle, roasted nuts and that dark and brooding sherry oak goes on and on and.. A meaty mouthfilling coastal Speyside that oozes complexity of dark and mysterious flavours.
