Product Description

This new peated Glendronach Single Malt was released late 2015. It is only lightly peated so would be a good way to introduce someone to the world of peated malts.

Nose: Smoked Bavarian cheese or sausage maybe? leathery, sour dough bread, waxy & scorched orange rind, earthy sawdust, coffee grounds, smoked nutty nougat.

Palate: Very different from the nose with a juicy dried fruit delivery (think smoked figs with heather honey) gorse like peat, polished oak, smoked vanilla toffee or fudge, oily-herbal notes, clove and anise creep in as well.

Finish: The anise and clove linger along with leather, heather honey and earthy smoked gorse, mincemeat and vanilla wood

A cracking peated addition to the Glendronach range and one to try if you like your Highland park malts.

93.5 Points Jim Murray's Whisky Bible

"I rarely mark the smoky whisky from a distillery which makes peat as an afterthought higher than its standard distillate. But here it is hard not to give massive marks"
