Product Description

A small batch release of just two casks from re-fill Sherry butts bottled at 56.2% ABV

Scored a massive 96 points in Jim Murray Whisky Bible 2017

Nose: Mocha, praline truffles, earthy and peppery malt, forest floor/mushrooms, savoury meat/leather notes, sultana/raisin soaked in rum, polished oak, brown bread with salted burnt butter.

Palate: The demorera sugars and dried fruit here are juicy and sweet yet savoury with some earthy, dry nut shell like notes, peppery and leathery, spicy treacle-nut brittle, fig jam.

Finish: Peppery malt, nuts on a mulchy bracken forest floor with dried fungai, spicy fruitcake, mocha, marzipan and rich, chewy and long, long finish.

Hard to fault this Bruichladdich with everying working in unison and working well, one of the whiskies of the year in terms of interesting flavour combinations, value for money and its powerful but well balanced beauty.
