Product Description

A single cask release from Ian Macleod (own the Glengoyne & Tamdhu distilleries) under the Chieftain's range of independent bottlings from another of those under the radar distilleries that deserves much more attention.

Ardmore is one of the few Highland single malts to be peated and with most of it going into the Teacher's blends there are only a few distillery releases.

Only 519 bottles of this Madeira cask finished Ardmore released.

Nose: Strawberry shortbread with aromatic cherry wood smoke, rum and raisin fudge, subtle earthy notes, charred lemon and pineapple with some cinnamon spice.

Palate: Maltloaf with aromatic runny honey, rum soaked rasins, treacle cured smoked ham, fruity liquorice, some earthy-cinnamon stick dryness but quite a fat and buttery body, peppery oak and lingering sweet smoke.

Finish: Smoked red berries, aged balsamic, malty treacle, fruity liquorice, peppery and chilli flake heat, well balanced earthy peat smoke and that savoury baked ham note lingers.

A aromatic sweet and savoury Ardmore that displays both distillery character and Madeira cask finish flavours in perfect harmony.
